In partnership with the Midlands Regional Skills Forum (MRSF) and the ReSHAPE programme ATIM’s Workforce Horizon’s Working Group was created in direct response to what companies in the Midlands said they needed most: a practical, industry‑informed space to address workforce challenges, upskilling requirements, and the development of current and emerging leaders—without the barriers of long‑term academic commitments.

Launched in January 2025, the working group brings together HR leaders, Learning & Development teams to openly discuss shared challenges around talent, capability-building, and staff retention.

In response to industry feedback from these sessions, a new middle‑management training and development programme for existing and emerging supervisors was co-designed with two cohorts of training being delivered. 40 participants from 13 member companies completed this tailored leadership initiative, strengthening capability at a critical level within our member manufacturing organisations.

This programme is now recognised as a flagship example of industry-led workforce development, ensuring that training is relevant, practical, and immediately applicable on the manufacturing floor.
